The first thing you need to do when you hire a new employee is have them fill out a W-4 form. Once they do, you will know what payroll taxes can the employer deduct. When it comes to FICA, your company is responsible for paying half of the taxes. The other half, which would be 7.65%, would be withheld from your employee’s paycheck. Then you save up this money in a fund and pay it to the government at the end of the year.
